Welcome to Urban Texture Hair Studio we are excited to have you here!

We believe people go to salons to look a certain way, but people come to Urban Texture Hair Studio to feel a certain way. We all understand how important it is to feel relaxed during your time with us, which is why our studio offers a luxury, professional service while still providing that coffee (or cocktails) with friends feeling, every time you visit!

We specialize in longer hair, balayage, blonding and soft lived in hair that lasts and continues to look amazing between visits.

Where We Began

Urban Texture Hair Studio originally began as a cute home studio in Laurie’s house in 2004. We were so stinkin’ good and the demand was so high, we had to move to a larger retail studio in Beacon Heights. We may be in the burbs… but we have an awesome downtown vibe with free, convenient parking. We serve guests from near and far in our NW Calgary salon!

Every guest that walks in our salon always comments on how much the team genuinely looks like they love working with each other, which has led to our success. You’ll see plenty of hugging, laughing and playful shenanigans. We love to hangout with each other outside the studio whenever we get the chance!

Laurie’s mission is to empower and mentor her team on how to elevate the standard of the beauty industry. With a gorgeous salon environment and by placing high importance for ongoing education the team can’t help but be dedicated to their craft. We create beautiful hair and cultivate amazing relationships and salon culture all while delivering a guest experience that rivals that of a high end resort.

Why Organic?

During Laurie’s career, she discovered a love for healthy, organic and natural options for beauty products. Using exceptional quality products that preserve the environment is of strong importance to her. We strive to carry as many gluten free, paraben free, sulfate free, and cruelty free products as we can. Laurie personally tests every single product that we stock on our shelves before she will even consider offering it to our guests to ensure it performs well.

Most of the products we stock are organic and naturally sourced from Canadian owned companies. So not only are you protecting your investment in your hair you are also supporting the Canadian economy. Win-win if you ask us!
