Our Owner + Founder, Laurie loved playing hairstylist since she was a little kid. In 2004, she turned that passion into reality by opening Urban Texture Hair Studio in 2004. Laurie's focus on creating a welcoming guest experience continues to define Urban Texture today.

Jocelyn always knew she wanted to do something that would allow her to connect with others on a different level. After joining UTHS officially in 2019, Jocelyn works alongside Laurie in a leadership position while also behind the chair and running our social media.

Originally from BC, Erin has lived and worked in Calgary for over 12 years! Erin has always had a passion for hair ever since she was young, and loves every aspect of the industry but where she truly thrives is with short cuts and vivid colours.

Another BC gal, Heidi has been in the industry since 2004, and is now proudly serving her guests in YYC. Her passion lies in creating beautiful blondes. Having curly hair herself, Heidi understands the unique challenges it can face.

Originally from Alberta, Christine took her training over in Germany where she lived for 14 years. Since moving back to Calgary, Christine finds herself drawn to colour corrections, balayages and styling.

Veronica’s passion for hairstyling started when she was quite young back home in Victoria. After an apprenticeship followed by advanced courses in both cutting and foil work, Veronica has had the opportunity to work in over 4 cities, now including Calgary.

Believe it or not, Susan didn’t start out in the industry, it was after working in an office that she realized that job was not for her. Fast forward 18 years and here we are. Textured lobs and bobs are her niche, but she loves long hair balayages just as much.

Baylee’s loved doing hair since she was young, but started her career as a jet setting flight attendant. Since joining the industry in 2022, Baylee’s goals when a guest is in her chair is to achieve their hair goals and feel like the best version of themselves.

Born and raised in Airdrie, Carrington worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, but decided to join the world of hair in 2020. Carrington truly believes in the freedom of expression, and what better way to express yourself than through your hair.

Sophia started working at UTHS on a whim back in 2019 at only 14 years old when someone called in sick and Laurie asked her to help out. Now, she’s worked hard to grow her skills and knowledge of the industry, where she creates beautiful hair from blondes to coppers.
